The walk starts at the Forest Cabin and drops gently through the pines until the trees open onto the river valley. From there it follows the water all the way down.
In June the banks are blue with gentian; in September the larches above turn gold and the river runs clear enough to count the stones.

Our guides leave every morning at nine. Lunch is packed by the kitchen, and the boat from the Lakeside Villa can bring tired legs back up the lake.
